PDS Batch Exporter automates a locally installed PowerDirector application. It does not replace PowerDirector and is not an official CyberLink product.

The problem

Exporting dozens or hundreds of PowerDirector projects manually takes time: open each .pds file, start the export, choose the output folder, wait for rendering, verify the video file, close the project and repeat. On large batches, human error becomes more likely.

PDS Batch Exporter automates this workflow by controlling PowerDirector locally, project by project. It opens .pds files, starts exports according to the selected profile, monitors rendering, verifies that the generated video file exists and becomes stable, then records the result in reports.

PDS Batch Exporter does not modify the original .pds file. The source project stays in its original folder. If an adjusted project file is needed, for example when a media file is missing or a path correction is required, the tool can create a modified copy of the .pds file only in the output directory, using the same project name. The original project file is not overwritten, moved or deleted.

Safety guards

The goal is not to go fast at any cost. If PowerDirector enters an unclear state, if an export window does not close properly or if the output file cannot be confirmed, the batch can stop instead of continuing dangerously to the next project.

The original .pds file remains in its source folder. If a working copy is required, it can be created only in the output directory and does not replace the source project.

PDS Batch Exporter is designed to preserve source projects. The original .pds file remains in its initial location and is not overwritten. If processing requires an adjusted project version, for example because of missing media or a path correction, the tool can create a modified .pds copy in the output directory. This copy uses the same project name and can be used for processing, backup or diagnostics without modifying the source file.

Key point: the source project remains intact; only an adjusted copy can be created in the output directory when needed.

Important limits

PDS Batch Exporter depends on PowerDirector, its interface, export windows, export profiles and Windows behavior. A PowerDirector update may require adjustment or recalibration. Test the tool on a small set of projects before any large batch.
